While just about all smoothies are packed with vitamins since their ingredients are usually fruits and vegetables, there are some healthy smoothies that are healthier and more rich in vitamins than others. This is one of the best healthy smoothies I have come across and its taste can't be beat. I usually prefer frozen fruit for a better texture and consistency, but frozen or fresh this will be a delicious and healthy breakfast smoothie or anytime smoothie.

1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blackberries
1 medium carrot
1 cup low-fat milk
1 cup pomegranate (cranberry is an okay substitute)
2 cups ice

I was wondering if you could supply the calorie content for this smoothie recipe?

For the most part, i don’t think the calorie count is necessary for this recipe. its all natural and healthy, and your body is going to use it to its best. processed foods and bad fats are probably the only calories you should really worry about working off, or just flat out avoiding. I try to eat the Veggies with the most calories because i get the most and the best energy from it. my advice to everyone: EAT HEALTHY AND STOP COUNTING CALORIES.

    (The whole drink)
    CALORIES: 289
    FIBER: 12.6g
    SUGARS: 44.4g
    PROTEIN: 12.5g
    Fat: 2.4g
    Saturated Fat: 0.3g
    Cholesterol: 4.9mg
    Sodium: 139.7mg

I used SKIM milk instead of low fat, though. If you use 1%, 2% of Whole milk it will obviously be a little different.

    Hope this helps!

Can this be made in a blender or – because of the carrot (do you slice it or grate it?) – does it have to be in a food processor or …? Thanks

My blender will tear through anything and juice it whole. Your blender may different. I throw everything in, even broccoli and spinach and it magically goes away in a swirly heaven I call smoothie.

What brand of blender do you have that will tear through anything?

I LOVED this smoothie, i actually added 1/3 cup of granola and used soy milk instead of regular milk. I felt full immediately!
