Mango Strawberry Banana Smoothie
I found this wonderful smoothie image on Flickr.com and then found the smoothie recipe on Sandra’s Recipes at http://sandrarecipeblogsite.blogspot.com. Not only is this mango, strawberry, banana smoothie a treat for the tongue, it is a visual delight for the eyes. Sandra has done a masterful job creating this smoothie. Please visit her site to find more recipes (and every recipe has a photo). This smoothie needs to be built in two colorful layers. It takes a little extra time, but you and anyone you share this smoothie with will be delighted at the results.
An added feature for this smoothie is the fact that is a non-dairy smoothie.
- 1 mango, peeled, pitted and chopped
- ½ cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 medium ice cubes
Top Layer:
- 1 banana, chopped
- 10 strawberries, cut in half
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 3 medium ice cubes
Directions: In a blender, puree the mango, orange juice, lime juice, honey, and ice cubes, until smooth, and divide amongst 2 straight-sided 8 oz. glasses, and set aside.
Rinse blender, then puree banana, strawberries, lemon juice, and ice cubes, until smooth, and gently pour into glasses while trying to maintain a line separating the layers.
I would love to post additional photos of this smoothie, so if you give it a try, send in the photos to blenderman@smoothieweb.com and I’ll add them and give you credit.
