“This is a very simple recipe (as are most smoothies) which is a great cool relief from a hot summer day. Banana, vanilla, and orange are delicious together.”

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 bananas, broken into chunks
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup milk

Place banana and vanilla ice cream into a blender. Pour in vanilla extract, orange juice, and milk. Puree until thick and smooth.

Not bad if you wanted a sweeter smoothie, you could substitute vanilla ice cream with orange, raspberry, or pineapple sherbet.

@emily – of course. That is the beauty of any recipe, and more so for smoothie recipes, they are there to be changed, improved and tinkered with. Have at it an let us know how it turned out.
