Cherry smoothies are a treat. While not a staple of the smoothie fanatic they can add a flavor that is a bit out of the norm. Send us your cherry smoothie recipes to add to our smoothie web.

Cherry Smoothie Recipe

This cherry smoothie makes a great breakfast smoothie, simple and quick to make and delicious to drink.

Ingredients:

  • 1 very ripe banana, peeled
  • 1 cup frozen unsweetened tart cherries
  • 1 cup skim milk

Put banana, frozen cherries and milk in he container of an electric blender; puree until smooth. Serve immediately.

Serving size: one cup. Makes ten servings.

Cherry Cantaloupe Smoothie

Cherries and cantaloupe in a smoothie? This recipe may sound like a bad accident in a produce aisle, but it also blends nicely for a great unusual low fat smoothie taste.

Cherry Cantaloupe Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cantaloupe (peeled, seeded, and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup apple or apricot juice
  • 2-3 pitted cherries
  • 1/4 cup raspberries or blackberries
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Put all ingredients into blender. Blend until smoothie consistency is reached.

Cherry Vanilla Smoothie

Cherry Vanilla Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Cherry Sugarfree syrup
  • 1/4 cup Vanilla Sugarfree syrup
  • 2 scoops VegeFuel
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed ice

Blend until smooth.

Banana Orange Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce container nonfat cherry yogurt
  • 1 banana, peeled, cut into pieces
  • 1 orange, peeled, white pith removed, cut into segments
  • 8 frozen dark cherries
  • 6 frozen strawberries

Combine ingredients in blender. Blend on medium speed until smooth.
Divide between 2 glasses.

Cherry Smoothie

Enjoy the sweet taste of cheeries and bananas.
Ingredients

  • 1 orange peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup pitted cherries
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1/2 cup ice cream, preferably vanilla or cherry vanilla

Preparation:

Blend all ingredients until smooth and be sure to drink right away.

Ice Cream Cherry Smoothie

Makes 2 cups; 2 (8-ounce) servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen tart cherries
  • 1/2 cup cherry juice blend
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream

Preparation

  1. Put frozen cherries and cherry juice blend in container of electric blender or food processor.
  2. Puree until almost smooth.
  3. Add ice cream one third at a time; blend well after each addition.

Cherry Coke Smoothie

Here is a real cherry coke, with real cherries. This smoothie is delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. cola
  • 2 c. pitted & halved cherries
  • 1 c. vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

Cherry Vanilla Dinner Smoothie

Reduced Portion Size to serve with sensible meal

  • 1/2 cup Frozen Cherries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1/4 cup Frozen Strawberries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax seed (organic food store or WildHarvest)
  • 2 small scoops fat free vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup of 100% cranberry juice
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon

Blend until smooth; add ice to thicken or juice to thin, as desired. Makes one serving!

Cherry Vanilla Lunch Smoothie

With Flax for EFA and Peanut Butter for protein

  • 1 cup Frozen Cherries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries or blackberries
  • 3 Tbsp ground flax seed (organic food store or WildHarvest)
  • 1 tsp wheat germ (seriously, they CAN NOT taste it!)
  • 2 small scoops fat free vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp peanut butter (it’s not noticable by taste)
  • 1 cup of 100% cranberry juice
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon

Blend until smooth; add ice to thicken or juice to thin, as desired. Makes two servings!

Serve with tuna, chicken salad or ham and cheese on multigrain bread.

Cherry Vanilla Breakfast Smoothie

With Flax for EFA and Wheat Germ for Fiber

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Frozen Cherries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1 cup Frozen Strawberries (not in syrup, try organic if possible)
  • 1 Tbsp ground flax seed (organic food store or WildHarvest)
  • 2 Tbsp wheat germ or wheat bran (seriously, they CAN NOT taste it!)
  • 2 small scoops fat free vanilla frozen yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of 100% cranberry juice
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon

Blend until smooth; add ice to thicken or juice to thin, as desired.
This smoothie provides excellent basic nutritional needs for children to get going in the morning. Makes two servings!
