Healthy Breakfast Smoothie

I decided to make a instructional video about my most favorite healthy breakfast smoothie recipe. I have this smoothie about once a week and would do it more if I had the time every morning. This smoothie can be had anytime as a meal replacement so don’t let the breakfast title fool you. They whey powder makes this a tasty protein smoothie as well. The smoothie recipe is below the movie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of frozen berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and/or strawberries)
  • 1 scoop of whey powder
  • 1 Tbs. flaxseed oil
  • 1Tbs. ground flaxseed
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 pack of Stevia
  • 8 ice cubes
  • 1 cup water

Blend until smooth and if needed you can add a few ice cubes to thiken it up. Make a little over sixteen ounces, so it will a good size to go cup and you can take a quick shot of the extra before you head out the door.

If this power protein smoothie doesn’t get you moving you’ll need to add pure adrenaline. A great smoothie recipe with power.

Power Smoothie

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup fruit juice (i.e. orange, cranberry, etc.)

For added nutrition use:

  • 1 Tbls. soy protein powder
  • 1 Tbls. molasses
  • 1 tsp. wheat germ.

Blend until smooth. Then add frozen fruit, i.e. strawberries, raspberries, etc., one at a time, until smoothie is consistency you desire. The basic recipe is: ice, fruit, yoghurt, juice and/or milk. (I usually stick to juice, but sometimes add just a splash of milk to smooth it out.)

Strawberry Soy Smoothie

Adding the soy and tofu gives this a protein boost along with all the helpful nutrition provided by soy and tofu.
