Banana Split Smoothie
Too lazy to eat a banana split? How about drinking a banana split? Bananas are great smoothie ingredients so why not bring the split to the smoothie? You can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you wish, but it tastes great without it.
Ingredients:
- 2 bananas
- 8 oz. crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened strawberries (frozen or fresh)
- 2 tbs. honey
- 6 ice cubes
- 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional)
Garnish
- whipped topping
- chocolate syrup
- maraschino cherries
Preparation
Combine bananas, pineapple, milk, strawberries and honey in a blender. Blend until smooth, no lumps. Start adding ice slowly and blending until slushy. Pour into large glasses, preferably chilled then garnish with whipped topping, chocolate syrup, and maraschino cherries. The perfect banana split in a glass.
Clementine Pineapple Smoothie
My wife seems to buy a lot of clementine oranges during the winter so I thought I should add a smoothie with clementines. After all, if they are a great winter fruit we should take advantage of them during the cold months here in Virginia.
Ingredients:
- 16 clementines, segmented
- 1 cup cubed fresh pineapples
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 2 cups milk or plain yogurt
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Supreme segment 16 clementines; set aside.
- Combine fresh clementines, pineapples, bananas, milk or yogurt and ice cubes in a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve with fresh clementine slices.
- Serves about 4

Tropical Fruit Smoothie
Thank you to Sonny Martin for this delicious smoothie recipe. Inviting too many fruits to the smoothie party can sometimes be a problem, but this mix of fruits works very well. Don’t leave out the coconut cream, it really changes the flavor.
- ½ can pineapple in its own juice, including juice
- 1 cup of Papaya, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
- 1 mango, peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and broken into chunks
- 2-3 tablespoons coconut cream (not milk)
- 2-3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 to 1½ cup plain yogurt (we prefer Mountain High brand)
- 1 to 1 ½ cup crushed ice
Blend all ingredients, except ice, in blender first set at medium and then at high. When smooth continue blending while pouring in 1 to 1½ cups crushed ice. Serves 4 to 6.
