Tofu Smoothie

  •   1 cup Tropicana Orange-Pineapple Juice
  •   2 cups frozen strawberries
  •   1 tablespoon honey
  •   1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •   1 pack Nasoya Silken Tofu
  •   1 cup Silk Very Vanilla Soymilk
  •   1 large banana
  •   12 packets Splenda
  •   Spike w/coconut rum (optional but recommended!)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen unsweetened strawberries
  • 1 cup 1% low-fat milk
  • 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  • 1/2 cup SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granular
  • 1 env. KOOL-AID Strawberry Flavor Unsweetened Soft Drink Mix

Preparation
Place all ingredients in blender and on high speed 30 sec. or until thickened and smooth.

Protein Smoothie

After undergoing gastric bypass surgery, the need existed for increasing protein in my diet. This is what I cam up with for breakfast. The amount of protein depends upon the protein powder you use. After trial and expensive error, the protein powder I found I liked best is Unjury brand, available at www.unjury.com
Ingredients

  • 1 banana, cut up
  • 2-3 strawberries, hulled and cut in half
  • 1 scoop protein powder or chocolate protein powder or strawberry protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons Splenda sugar substitute
  • 1 cup nonfat milk
  • 3/4-1 1/2 cup ice

Preparation

1. Place banana, strawberries, protein powder, and splenda in a blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Add ice and blend until ice is incorporated and mixture is thick.
4. Note: I always use unflavored protein powder and sometimes add 1 TBS unsweetened cocoa powder.

Mr. Strong’s Time Travelling Chocolate Egg Flip Smoothie

This recipe is branched off of the “Mr. Strong’s Egg Flip” recipe in the 1970s Mr. Men Cookbook.
Once again, another incredibly complicated set of instructions to follow:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein (I prefer PVL’s Stacker for this one - awesome taste)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • (optional) 3 packets of splenda
  • (optional) 1/4 banana (for thickness)

Preparation

  1. Crack the eggs into a small bowl.
  2. Put the eggs, milk, chocolate protein, vanilla extract, and (optionally) 1/4 banana and packets of splenda into the blender.
  3. That’s right, raw eggs. This isn’t a drink for wussies. Besides, Mr. Strong drank this and he pressed entire *trucks* over his head. With one hand!!! You’re not going to get there without drinking raw eggs!!
  4. Blend for one minute.

Non-Dairy Peach Smoothie

Looking for something low-fat and low calorie without dairy? This smoothie fits the bill.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frozen peach
  • 1/4 cup soft tofu
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1 teaspoon Splenda
  • 20-gram scoop of low-carb soy powder

Add to blender and blend until smooth. Great as a low-carb, non-dairy meal.
