If you like grapes this smoothie will be quite the treat and for all the sweet flavor this is a very healthy smoothie recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups red seedless grapes
  • 1/3 cup boysenberries
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup of grape juice (I prefer sparkling white grape juice.)
  • 2 cups of ice

If you can’t find one of the berries, just substitute more of the others so you have 1 full cup of nutrient-rich berries.

Grapefruit Smoothie

I personally don’t like grapefruit, but my wife loves them, so there must be others who would enjoy a grapefruit smoothie. While it is too tart for my tastes it is an ultra healthly smoothie recipe.

Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed is perferred
  • 3/4 cup of sliced pineapple
  • 1/4 cup of pineapple juice (this will sweeten it up nicely)
  • 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
  • 2 cups ice
  • Optional: feel free to add a scoop of ice cream for an even sweeter taste.

Great Grape Smoothie

Grapes are available year round, but summer seedless grapes are the best. As spring approaches I’m looking forward to the delicious flavor a crips red grape contains. Try thi in a smoothie and reap all the health benefits the red grape has to offer. Grape smoothies don’t get the respect they deserve.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups chilled (not quite frozen) red seeless grapes
  • 2/3 cup sherbet ice cream (raspberry or lime)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened grape juice
  • 1 to 3 cups of ice (start with one and add more as needed)

Blend this one ingredient at a time and add the ice cubes slowly until the thickness you want is desired.

Breakfast Replacement Smoothie

Trying to get out the door in the morning and eat a good breakfast is a tough combination, so finding a good smoothie combination to help me is a good idea. Well, I like Grape Nuts cereal and I like to mix it in yogurt and eat it with lunch or for a snack. So why not blend it into a breakfast smoothie? So I did.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Grape Nuts cereal
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (low-fat)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups juice (orange, apple or whatever you like. I wouldn’t mind trying pineapple in this)

Blend and feel the energy!

Purple Cow Smoothie (Grape)

Sometimes it can be tough to find good grapes, especially during the winter months in Viriginia, so using grape concentrate in place of grapes is a good idea for a grape smoothie recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (that’s the cow part)
  • 8 tbs. frozen grape juice concentrate (I like Welch’s and this is the purple part)
  • 1 cup of milk (also the cow part)
  • 1 cup of ice

Blend and enjoy.
