Healthy Breakfast Smoothie
I decided to make a instructional video about my most favorite healthy breakfast smoothie recipe. I have this smoothie about once a week and would do it more if I had the time every morning. This smoothie can be had anytime as a meal replacement so don’t let the breakfast title fool you. They whey powder makes this a tasty protein smoothie as well. The smoothie recipe is below the movie.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of frozen berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and/or strawberries)
- 1 scoop of whey powder
- 1 Tbs. flaxseed oil
- 1Tbs. ground flaxseed
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1 pack of Stevia
- 8 ice cubes
- 1 cup water
Blend until smooth and if needed you can add a few ice cubes to thiken it up. Make a little over sixteen ounces, so it will a good size to go cup and you can take a quick shot of the extra before you head out the door.

You don’t mention how much water? I assume about 1 cup?
DAve
Yes, 1 cup of water. Sorry for that omission.
whey protein is a protein derived from milk, making whey a dairy product.
Whey is a dairy product!
yeah, certainly not dairy free!
I’m trying to tone up and lose 10-15 lbs. I’m 5’5″ and 140 lbs now. I exercise a little and try to watch what I eat, but some days its hard. I’m a stay at home mom and I have a daycare in my home and sometimes its hard not to snitch a cookie, etc. from the little ones. What can I do to really jumpstart a routine for myself. I have books of different exercises to do and I do them, but not everyday as I should. I need some encouragement.
what does flax seed and whey powder do for your diet?
Hi, Kathy – I saw the post and want to thank you for your kind link to my site. Feel free to take a recipe and give a link back from it please. If you have any of your own concoctions I would be glad to post them with a link back to your site.
How many calories does the breakfast smoothie have?
You should probably file this into a different category, again “whey” = dairy.
