Creamy Blackberry Smoothie

Okay, I realize creamy and blackberry don’t usually go together but that is what smoothieweb.com is all about, mixing flavors and textures that don’t always come to mind. This blackberry smoothie is worth the risk. Let me know how you like it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream (a good start, yes?)
  • 1 1/2 cups of frozen blackberries
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp lime juice (for a tart kick)
  • dollop of whipped cream

Blend until you can’t wait and then add the whipped cream.

This was amazing! I just returned from Safeway and had bought vanilla ice cream, milk, whipped cream, frozen strawberries, and frozen blackberries and was looking for a smoothie recipe that could incorporate these. Weirdly enough this was the first recipe I came across! The only thing I don’t have is lime juice but even without, this is a delicious concoction I am enjoying right now :) Thanks!

I made this today and it is very good but I feel like its missing just a little something but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe if it was half rasberry and half blackberry.

Kayleen: I ditched the lime and it was perfect. More like a milkshake, though. Still yummy!
