Breakfast Replacement Smoothie

Trying to get out the door in the morning and eat a good breakfast is a tough combination, so finding a good smoothie combination to help me is a good idea. Well, I like Grape Nuts cereal and I like to mix it in yogurt and eat it with lunch or for a snack. So why not blend it into a breakfast smoothie? So I did.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Grape Nuts cereal
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (low-fat)
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups juice (orange, apple or whatever you like. I wouldn’t mind trying pineapple in this)

Blend and feel the energy!

Purple Cow Smoothie (Grape)

Sometimes it can be tough to find good grapes, especially during the winter months in Viriginia, so using grape concentrate in place of grapes is a good idea for a grape smoothie recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (that’s the cow part)
  • 8 tbs. frozen grape juice concentrate (I like Welch’s and this is the purple part)
  • 1 cup of milk (also the cow part)
  • 1 cup of ice

Blend and enjoy.

Green Envy Avocado Smoothie

I absolutely love avocadoes and adding them to a smoothie is something I never thought of before. But I’m all about trying something new and how bad could it be? Well, it was excellent and the avocado adds a creamy texture you don’t find in smoothies usually. Try this avocado smoothie and surprise it on your friends. They’ll be amazed it was made from avocado.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup of strawberries (preferably fresh, but frozen will do)
  • 1 cup of orange or strawberry sherbet
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted

Danielle G Smoothie Recipe

The key is putting slightly more pineapples than strawberries, and because the fruit is frozen you dont need ice. Tastes great and very healthy!!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 hand fulls of Dole’s frozen pineapples
  • 1 1/2 to 2 hand fulls of Dole’s frozen whole strawberries
  • 3 squirts of clover honey

Preparation:
Mix in blender on high for a few seconds. Serves 2 large cups.

This is a combination I haven’t tried before but raspberries and chocolate seem like a good combination so maybe it will be as good as I think it should be. Try this chocolate smoothie with a raspberry zing!

  • 1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tbs. instant chocolate pudding powder
  • 1 cup cream soda (yep, cream soda)
  • 1 cup milk
